Michael Anthony Toney Gallant, known by friends as ‘Mi’kmaq Mike’, (Glooscap First Nation People) of Brookfield, MA, has started his journey to the spirit world on October 11th, 2024. He was born in Bangor, Maine to the late Melvin D Gallant and Eileen B Toney Cates. Michael enjoyed everything about music and arts, he was a passionate guitar player and artist. With his English Literature degree and his minor in music, he enjoyed reading and writing music and poems. He chose to make a living as a General Contractor, with a perfection of making old and ugly things beautiful and new. With a smile on his heart, he loved spending time with his children and being a devoted Papa to his grand children, and his lifelong hard-work for his family. He leaves his wife, his queen, of 25 years Ramona Gallant of Brookfield, MA, his son Charles Gallant and wife Justine Gallant, and his granddaughters Alexis and Aliya Gallant all of Naugatuck, CT, his son Lucas Gallant of Brookfield, his daughter Rozalynn Autumnrain Soares and her husband Shawn Soares, his grandsons Anthony, Nicolas and soon Luis will be joining us in February, all of Worcester, MA, his beloved cousin, brother, and childhood secret keeper William ‘Billy’ Cedar and auntie Carol Goodrich of Worcester, MA, his favorite nephew Tommy Lowe and wife Sara Lowe and their children Tessa, Benjamin, Owen, Jocelyn and Mya, who he has shared very special memories and times with, all of Dandridge,Tennessee, his mother in law Terry Ortiz, his brother in law Joe Ortiz and nephews Joe Ortiz Jr and Jonathan Michael Howard, all of Worcester MA, his sister in law Christina Ortiz and her husband John Dotson, and his niece Selena Dotson and his nephew Jordan Dotson, all of Barre, MA, his brother-in-law Joe McAuliffe and his wife Stephanie, his nephew, Michael Emmott and niece Amanda McAuliffe of Tennessee his sister-in-law Marylu Parker, his niece, Alishia Brittain, and Nephew James Lowe lifelong friends who he referred to as brothers David Capurso, Adam Paquette and was proud to be godfather the Conor Capurso, his favorite adopted Irish family the Walsh family and many family and friends in Nova Scotia, Canada and his bandmates in the “Rugmonkeys” . Michael was preceded in death by his mother Eileen and father Melvin, his grandson, Domenic Michael Gallant, his brother Matty, and his father in law Jose Ortiz. In lieu of flowers, Michael’s favorite charitable donations were made to Salvation Army on 640 Main Street Worcester MA. Dirsa – Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester is assisting the family. Michael was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to anyone that has come across his path. His memory lives on through his wife, his kids and grandkids, and the music that he played will always echo through the wind as a reminder that he is always with us in spirit. He wanted his memory to forever be a happy one, for those to think of him and be filled with laughter and happiness and for those that think of him to smile when they think of him. It is never goodbye, but simply ‘see you later’. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024 in Worcester County Memorial Park, Heritage 1 Section. 217 Richards St., Paxton, MA 01612. |
