Robert T. Wiffin, age 75, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. Bob was born on October 10, 1948, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He came to America at a young age, graduated from Wachusett High School in Holden, and earned a degree in Business Administration from Worcester State University. Bob served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years before he was honorably discharged. Following his service, he worked for many years as a manager at Data General. Bob was an avid car enthusiast with a special interest in vintage, British-built cars. He loved to work on his 1969 Triumph TR6 and travel to British car shows throughout New England. He also enjoyed working on his model train set and he was a devoted sports fan, especially of hockey, and he rooted between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins. Bob was a gentle, devoted family man and dearly loved his grandchildren, who will always remember his warm hugs and special pancakes. Bob is survived by his mother Grethe (Ranch) Wiffin of Sarasota, FL; his wife of 52 years Cynthia A. (Cataldo) Wiffin and their four children, Daniel Wiffin and his wife Bridget of Providence, Anthony Wiffin of Worcester, Matthew Wiffin and his wife Jennifer Bowes of Providence, and Amelia Wiffin of Salem; three grandchildren, Wilder, Cecelia, and Maxwell; his brother, Brian Wiffin and his wife Jocelyne O’Brien-Wiffin of Sarasota, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Roy Wiffin, and his sister, Maureen Hadden. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, May 13th from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m., followed by the burial with military funeral honors at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
