Olive M. (Prescott) Brooks Grenier, 99, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Holden, Olive was the daughter of Roland C. and Nellie (White) Prescott and spent most of her life in Rutland before relocating to Northborough in 2017. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Grenier, who passed away in 1993. Olive was a graduate of Rutland High School and Salter Secretarial School in Worcester. She served as an administrative assistant at the Natural History Museum in Worcester and was previously the executive secretary to the chief of physical medicine at the former Rutland Veteran’s Hospital. A devout member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland, Olive contributed her voice to the church choir. In her leisure time, she found joy in reading and solving crossword puzzles. She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Carol Dowden and her husband, Keith, of North Grosvenordale, CT, Nancy Nichols and her husband, Michael, of Rutland, and Janice Grenier of Worcester; a son, Paul Grenier, and his wife, Nancy, of Rutland; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Brooks of Englewood, FL;16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Olive is predeceased by two sons, David Brooks and Leo Grenier, Jr., and a sister, Thelma Denio. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and share memories with Olive’s family from 9 to 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 30th at Miles Funeral Home, followed by a procession to St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Following the service, burial will take place at Worcester Country Memorial Park in Paxton. |
