Dorothy M. “Dot” (Fresolo) Kamendulis, 88, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, surrounded by her children. Her loving husband of fifty-four years, Francis G. Kamendulis, predeceased her in January 2012. Dorothy is survived by her loving family, including a son, Francis X. Kamendulis of Spencer; three daughters, Paula O’Leary and her husband Richard of Leominster, Linda LeMay and her husband James of Shrewsbury, and Lisa Kamendulis of Monrovia, IN; three sisters, Louise D. Tula of Shrewsbury, Irene M. Fresolo of Worcester, and Terese M. (Anthony) Zalieckas of Shrewsbury, and two sisters-in law, Harriet Fresolo of Millbury and Nancy Fresolo of Missouri; ten grandchildren, Joanna Spalatro, Angela DeFalco, Patricia Pond, Richard O’Leary, Thomas O’Leary, Kristen LeMay, Paul LeMay, Kayla Germaine, Jeffrey LeMay, and Erin LeMay; six great grandchildren, Cole and Rae DeFalco, Lennon and Anthony Spalatro, Audrey Germaine, and Russell LeMay; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born in Worcester, one of ten children born to the late, Rocco A. and Dorothy M. (Bowns) Fresolo. She was predeceased by six siblings, Rocco A. Fresolo, Jr., Ronald J. Fresolo, Joseph P. Fresolo, Richard E. Fresolo, Marie C. Bisceglia, and Marjorie A. Duquette. Dot grew up in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Commerce High School. She and Francis moved to Shrewsbury in 1960, where she was a member of Saint Anne’s Church. Dot preferred to be active, holding various jobs throughout her life, including serving as a volunteer for meals on wheels in recent years. However, Dot’s greatest love was for her family. She was a devoted and caring mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She created and maintained a loving home for her children to thrive. Over the years, she found great enjoyment and was a “regular” at her grandchildren’s sporting events, and musical concerts. Her great sense of humor could impart joy and laughter even to sad situations – she truly touched everyone who met her and will be dearly missed. Calling Hours will be on Thursday, December 1, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Friday, December 2, departing the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road (Route 9 East), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, www.cff.org/donate. |
