Jean M. Halsdorff, 65, died peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Life Care Center of Auburn. Jean was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Maryann E. (Ricci) Novia and was a lifelong Holden resident. Jean graduated from Wachusett High School with the class of 1976. She went on to work in customer service at several local jewelry stores, most notably, Maria’s Fine Jewelry in Worcester. Jean’s life was centered around family and she was always looking forward to the next family trip, especially to Salisbury Beach. She had a passion for cooking and used her food to bring people together. Jean was a devoted Aunt, sister, and daughter. She will be dearly missed. Jean is survived by her brothers, David Halsdorff and his wife, Christine of Rutland, James Halsdorff and his wife, Kim of Rodanthe, NC and Louis Novia and his wife, Jean of Leicester; her sisters, Debora Malo and her husband, Kenneth of Holden and Robin Rogers and her husband, Frederick of Brookfield; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and one great nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richard’s Ave., Paxton.
