GEORGE A RODRIQUE

George A. Rodrique, 91, formerly of Worcester and Florida, passed away peacefully in Holden Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center on July 3, 2022.

Mr. Rodrique was married for 45 years to the late Judith (Wood) Rodrique, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by two children, George A. Rodrique Jr. and his wife, Mizuho Minegishi of Worcester and Jessie Rodrique of Concord, MA; two brothers, Albert Rodrique of Worcester and Phil Rodrique of Cataumet, MA; two sisters, Theresa Lessard of Maine and Eva Donavan of Millbury and several nephews and nieces.

George was born in Worcester, son of the late Stanislaus and Marie Rose (Doucette) Rodrique and is also predeceased by two brothers, Wilfrid and Jean-Paul Rodrique and two sisters, Yvette Rockwood and Mary Beth Rodrique.

Mr. Rodrique attended the former Commerce High School in Worcester and then proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the military George worked Parker Manufacturing, M&M Trucking, Yellow Freight System before going to work for many years at the Wyman Gordon Company in Grafton until his retirement.

He was an avid golfer and bowler, and cherished the time he was able to be with his late wife, Judith while he was at his weekly bowling league tournaments. George was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and could often be found listening to country music or watching western movies.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 11:30 AM in Saint Anne’s Church 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Notre Dame Hospice 555 Plantation Street Worcester, MA 01605.
