Robert Henry Tetreault Sr. passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester. Robert was born in Worcester to Henry and Beatrice (Casavant) Tetreault. He attended Worcester Boys’ Trade High School before enlisting and serving in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952. He married Anna M. Benway on July 3, 1954. They raised six children and cared for several foster infants while residing in Worcester. As a young man, he worked for years at Crompton & Knowles Loom Works. He was also a house painter for much of his life, by trade. Robert joined the Air Force Reserve and worked as an aircraft mechanic and inspection flight chief at Hanscom AFB and Westover AFB. He served in the Air Force for twenty-two years before retiring. Robert enjoyed many outdoor summertime activities including fishing, horseshoes, going to the beach, and playing softball at Westover AFB. He was a very big Boston sports fan. He and his sons once had shirts declaring “Sports is Life!” Robert loved card games. He was a master pinochle and cribbage player. His long-time hobby was building and painting model military airplanes and ships. Robert leaves his sons Stephen Tetreault and his wife Halina of Worcester, Michael Tetreault and his wife Audrey of Dunnellon, FL and Robert Tetreault Jr. and his wife Tammy of Delray, FL.; his daughters Patricia Senecal and husband Jeffrey of Leicester, Michelle Grudzinski and husband William of Charlton and Beth Goven of Brimfield; brothers John Tetreault and wife Sandra of Northboro, and Lawrence Tetreault and wife Patricia of Worcester; sisters Helen LeFrancois and Linda Duffy of Worcester; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his wife Anna, of 58 years, in 2013; grandson Michael Tetreault Jr.; great-granddaughter Keira Tetreault; sisters Constance Tetreault and Nancy Joiner; brothers Alfred and Thomas Tetreault. As we say good-bye to our father, pepere, friend… we thank him for years of love and fond memories. Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. The Athy Memorial Home, Worcester, is directing arrangements. |
