Michael A. Toscano, 65, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Saint Vincent Hospital. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Frances (Clemente) Toscano; two daughters, Amy and Ashley; three step-children, Erica Gemme and her husband Daniel of Holden, Bryan Roux and his wife Kara of Framingham, and Mary Lassey and her husband Jeffrey of Leicester; a brother, Francis Toscano of Auburn; two sisters, Carol Symonowicz of Oxford and Paula Carlson of North Oxford; sixteen grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Angela Toscano; and by two sisters, Mary Lebel and Lisa Steele. Michael was born in Worcester, son of the late, Francis and Ann (Eagleton) Toscano. Michael worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Worcester Water Department for many years, before retiring in 2014. He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. He was a member of the Blue Knight’s Motorcycle Club, loved long motorcycle rides, tinkering on Harley Davidson’s with friends, and rides with his wife Frances. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, as they were the lights of his life. Michael regularly vacationed in Aruba, an annual trip for over thirty years. He enjoyed “The Wonder of It All” and visits to Vegas. He loved country music and, although he was non-verbal as a result of several strokes, he had a huge personality and certainly got his point across by saying just one word. Michael was able to live comfortably after his strokes because of the daily dedication of his wife Frances and her constant care and advocacy. A special thank you is extended to his home health aide Florence and all the wonderful people at Summit Elder Care. Calling Hours will be on Thursday morning, June 9, from 9:30 a.m. until his Funeral Service begins at 11:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. |
