Kamal Afshari, age 63, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, January 31, 2022. He was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, the son of Ahmad and Maryam (Orabashiha) Afshari. Kami began his career as a stylist working for his brother, Mo at Moji Hair Design. This is where he met the love of his life, Andrea. They soon got married and opened their own hair salon, Kami & Co, on March 7, 1992. It went on to be the number one hair salon in Westborough 6 years in a row. He loved his business and putting smiles on people’s faces. There was never a dull moment, he brought life to everything he touched. The unconditional love he had for his family was evident everywhere he went and in everything he did. His happiest moments were when he was breaking bread and sharing stories with the ones he loved. He is survived by his three daughters, Rachel, Julia and Morgan Afshari; his granddaughter, Lyla Grace Sexton; his siblings, Reza, Moji, and Saeideh Afshari. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by brother, Morteza Afshari. A graveside service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5th at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richard’s Ave., Paxton. A celebration of life will follow from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at El Basha, 256 Park Ave., Worcester.
