Georgina L. Lamoureux, 73, of Dunedin, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Florida after a short illness. She leaves her husband of almost 50 years, Raymond A. Lamoureux; four children, Timothy Lamoureux and his wife Charlene of Fort Smith, Ark., Angela Lamoureux of Penn., Alicia Audette of Worcester and Melissa Szczurko of Sutton; nine grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Lamoureux, Matthew Lamoureux and Kayla Matson, Lily and Rick Audette, and Britney, Shauntell, and Brett Szczurko; and seven great- granddaughters. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Reauleau. Georgina was born in Cambridge and later moved to Marlboro in her childhood. She lived in Sutton for many years and has divided her time between Florida and Cape Cod later in her lifetime. Georgina worked in the Ceramics Division of the Norton Company for 17 years, retiring in 2003. Previously, she had worked at Micronetworks. George enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing with her loving husband. She had such a big heart and always thought of others. She would crochet beautiful afghans to give away to family and friends. At the cape, she enjoyed the club cookouts with her family around her. Ginny also looked forward to her time at the VFW playing cards. She would proudly sing her favorite songs at Karaoke and would not hesitate to drag someone onto the dance floor. She was an active member of the American Legion Post 275 Auxiliary in Dunedin, Fla. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5988 Auxiliary in Bourne. Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Tuesday, February 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home. Other funeral arrangements are private. |
