Leo LeBlanc, Jr., 85, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. Leo was predeceased by his parents, the late Leo LeBlanc, Sr. and Pearl L. (Derosier) LeBlanc, and his brother, Richard C. LeBlanc. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Elizabeth J. “Betty” (Cooney) LeBlanc, of Auburn; his children, Paula J. (LeBlanc) Atlas and her friend Mark Ashton, of Leominster, Michael L. LeBlanc and his wife Deborah, of Oxford, Christopher J. LeBlanc and his wife Kathleen, of Leominster, and Jeffrey D. LeBlanc and his fiancée Heather Pugliese, of Willington, CT; eight grandchildren, Sean Atlas and his friend Teresa Kramek, of Shrewsbury, Matthew Atlas and his fiancée Ashley Soroka, of Groveland, MA, Juliana Atlas, of Oakland, CA, David LeBlanc and Katherine LeBlanc, of Oxford, Jennifer LeBlanc, of Rutland and Alexander LeBlanc of Willington, CT, Colin LeBlanc, of Leominster, Matthew Stidsen and his fiancée Sarah Whalen of Oxford, Adam Stidsen and his wife Victoria Stidsen of Hawaii; and two great grandchildren, Kylie and Isabelle Stidsen of Oxford; his brother-in-law, John E. Cooney, of Uxbridge; and his nephew, John Cooney, III and his wife Carol and their daughter Rianne, of Northbridge, and his niece, Kathleen LeBlanc and her children Ryan and Ashley, of Gardner; and his best friends Mary and Bob Ullstrom and Carol and Greg Kemp. Born in Bennington, VT and raised in Worcester, Leo was educated in Worcester, as a graduate of St. Peters Central Catholic High School, he attended Worcester State College before joining the U.S. Navy in 1958. He served aboard the USS Johnston DD821 until he was honorably discharged in 1966. After his discharge, he attended Worcester Junior College, where he received his AS in Engineering/Engineering Management. He then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with his BS in Industrial Distribution and Management from Central New England College, in 1976, and then proceeded to get his MBA from Anna Maria College in 1978. Leo began his career at Sprague Electric and subsequently worked at Data General and EMC Corporation for more than 25 years, retiring in 2004. Leo loved music, playing both the piano and drums. Leo was a member of the Bob Lee Trio Band prior to his military career. He also was an avid reader, he liked RV’ing and also loved to travel, he enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family. Leo loved his dogs the white one, the other white one and the brown one (a.k.a. Sadie, Sophie and Roo). Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the LeBlanc family between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, where masks and social distancing will be required. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 21st at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn, followed by burial with Military Honors at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton, MA. |
