Margaret Mary (Murray) Scott, also known as Peg, 75, of South Yarmouth, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends. She joins her husband, Robert W. Scott Jr. in eternal embrace. Margaret was born in Worcester, Ma on February 25, 1946 to the late Walter J. and Mary (Seymour) Murray. Peg is survived by her daughters, Allison Vickstrom and her husband, Andrew of Worcester, Ma and Victoria Detschner and her husband, Steven of Barnstable, MA. She also leaves the lights of her life, her cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Bradley, Henry, Lena and Remy. Peg also leaves a brother, Bernard, of Worcester, and several nieces and cousins. After graduating from St. Peter’s Central Catholic, she attended Ward Business School. She then worked at The New England Telephone Co. of Worcester and Wright Line (Eaton Corp.) for 35 years where she met Robert. After retirement she lived a quiet life on Cape Cod. Peg always enjoyed exploring new places dining at her favorite restaurants reading, shopping, traveling and was always up for a good game of cards. Most of all she was a proud “MiMi” and enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Fresinuis Dialysis Center, The VNA of Cape Cod, Hospice, and The Mumford Family. Lastly, the family would like to thank her lifelong friend, Catherine Smeagle for her unconditional support. Arrangements under the direction of Chapman Funeral & Cremations, Yarmouth. Visiting hours will be held at Morris, O’Connor Chapel, 58 Long Pond Dr. South Yarmouth on Thursday May 13 from 5-7 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, 98 Station Ave., S. Yarmouth, MA. 02664 on Friday May 14 @ 11: am. Burial will be held on Saturday May 15, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA 01612 at 11: am. |
