Elba Herrera, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Umass Hospital in Worcester. She was born October 8, 1931 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba daughter to Carmen (Reyes Cabrera) and Jose A. Rosabal Rosabal. Elba spent her life raising her own four children along with providing a loving, caring and nurturing daycare in her own home. She offered care and love for her families well into her late seventies. Ms. Herrera was an avid gardener and appreciated the beauty that accompanied it. She would often be found in the kitchen cooking Cuban food and sweets, which would fill the air with incredible aromas her children, grandchildren and extended family benefited from and will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a loving family that will miss her dearly including her four children, Maria of Worcester, Laura of Amherst, Manuel of Oxford and Norma of Cincinnati; her siblings, Angeles of Port St. Lucie, Fidelina and Gladys of Worcester, Cecilia and Edy of Santiago de Cuba, and Jose R. Rosabal of Port St. Lucie; her grandchildren, Laurie, Nathan, Alberto A., Jeremy, Isaac, Alicia, Lynette, Manuel Jr., and Preston; and her great grandchildren Van, Eli, and Ari. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elba’s life on Monday, September 14 with visiting hours from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Callahan, Fay and Caswell Life Celebration Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery in Paxton. |
