Kenneth K. Kephart, 79, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 under the loving care of his family and the compassionate staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. Born Emporium, Pennsylvania, Ken was the son of Henry K. and Gertrude N. (Barrick) Kephart and lived 60 years in Worcester. His beloved wife of 33 years, Marilyn (Goldstein) Kephart died in 2016. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his five children, Deborah Simpson and her husband, Michael of Shrewsbury, Keith K. Kephart and his wife, Joyce of Millbury, Kevin K. Kephart and his wife, Michele of Rutland, step-son Steve Washburn and his wife Barbara of Charlton, and step-daughter Wendy E. Monfreda and her fiancé, Jim Welsh of Worcester; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and his companion Cockapoo, Jack. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962 aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Hunt. He worked as an auto technician at Patrick Motors in Worcester for 27 years. After his retirement, he went to work for his son as a mechanic at G&K Automotive in Worcester. Ken’s life passion was auto racing – particularly ice racing. He was a lifetime member of the Jaffrey Ice Racing Association and enjoyed watching his sons race. He was a multi time feature winner at Westboro Speedway. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ken’s family from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 22, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Funeral services are private.
