DEBORAH A. CLARK (ETRE)

     Deborah A. (Etre) Clark, 59, of Jefferson, died Monday, January 7, at the UMass Memorial Medical Center after an illness.

Deborah leaves her husband of 37 years, retired Worcester Fire Lieutenant Michael M. Clark; three children, Michael M. Clark Jr. and his wife Tania of Warren, Katelyn Eddy and her husband Zachary of Barre, and Worcester Firefighter Timothy M. Clark and his wife Kylie of Jefferson; ten grandchildren, Sheamus, Abigail and Elowen Clark, Rylie, Liam, Grayson, Everett, Weston and Emelia Eddy, and Ryder Clark; a brother, Victor Etre of Worcester; two sisters, Donna Brooks of Spencer and Cecilia Gleason of Auburn; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leroy Sparhawk, Robert Etre and Charles Etre, all of Worcester.

Deborah was born in Worcester, daughter of Victor and Virginia (Oliver) Etre.

Deborah graduated in 1977 from Burncoat High School in Worcester and worked at Hanover Insurance Co. as a claims adjuster for several years. She then enrolled in the nursing program at David Hale Fanning Trade School and became a licensed practical nurse. She worked for many years on the nursing staff at the Providence House in Worcester.

Deborah had a strong faith and a deep spiritual core. She found inspiration in religious readings.

She was a loving wife, mother and nana, devoted to her family. She also had a tremendous sense of humor. It’s not goodbye – it’s until then.

Deborah’s family wishes to thank the medical and nursing staff on the sixth floor ICU at the Medical Center University Campus for the skilled and compassionate care they gave Deborah.

Calling hours are Friday, January 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Saturday, January 12, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, the Clark family asks that friends encourage organ donation to help others.
