Donald J. Gavin, 85, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. His wife Patricia M. (Tozzi) Gavin, 81, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Southbridge. They are survived by their daughter, Donna M. Orrico and her husband Brian of Webster; two grandchildren, Laura J. Marszalkowski and her husband Brad of Belchertown, and David J. Orrico and his girlfriend Elisa Williams of Webster; a great-grandson, Colton R. Marszalkowski of Belchertown; and many nephews and nieces. Donald is also survived by three brothers, Daniel Gavin and his wife Patricia of Millbury, William Gavin of Webster, and Paul Gavin of Worcester; and three sisters, Theresa Bacillici of Florida, Ann Franco of Worcester, and Dorothy Landry and her husband Richard of Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia a day earlier; a brother, James Gavin; and two sisters, Barbara Schulman and Kathleen Gavin. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Austin and Gertrude (Adams) Gavin, and lived Worcester before moving to Webster 7 years ago. Patricia is also survived by her brother Frank Tozzi. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Tozzi. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank and Belle (Graves) Tozzi, and lived in Rochdale, Oxford, and Worcester, before moving to Webster 7 years ago. Donald worked at Standard Foundry in Worcester for 25 years. After retiring, he worked Stop and Shop. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the English Social Club, the Auburn Elks, the Fabulous 40 Club, and many other organizations throughout his life. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Patricia worked at Eddington Thread Company in Worcester for 17 years. Previously, she worked for Brown Shoe Company in Worcester for 25 years. She took great pride in caring for her home, husband, and family. She enjoyed watching movies and will be remembered as a hard-worker throughout her life. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A memorial service for Donald and Patricia will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Memorial calling hours are Thursday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
