John V. “Buddy” Miller, 93, died peacefully Friday, May 4th at UMass Medical Center after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Barbara G. (Ernst) Miller, who was the Love of his Life for 69 years; his nieces Mary Caramiello and her husband, Joseph of Auburn; a nephew Daniel and his wife, Linda of Standish, ME; three nieces-in-law, Linda Josti of Shrewsbury, Jean Josti of Spencer and Nancy Karbowski of North Brookfield. He also leaves two great nieces, Heather Harris of Chula Vista, CA and Bonni Holmes of North Brookfield; six great-nephews, Michael Josti of Norwell, Timothy Josti, Jr. of East Brookfield, Robert Josti of Rutland, Brandon Caramiello of Haverhill, Justin Caramiello of Auburn and Christopher Karbowski of Brookfield. He enjoyed watching them grow and attending their many celebrations. He also leaves seventeen great-great nieces and nephews who brought many smiles to him through visits and stories of them. John was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette (Miller) Josti; his brother, Leo Miller; and two nephews Walter Josti and Timothy Josti, Sr. He was born in Worcester, the son of John and Melvina (Brunelle) Miller and attended Worcester Public Schools. John retired from the Norton Company in June of 1986 after working as a security officer for thirty-five years. He enjoyed doing a variety of things, often entertaining family and friends by playing the organ and accordion. Buddy loved to be on the water, whether it was in his boat at the lake house or on a cruise ship with Barbara. The closest thing to his heart was spending time on the dance fore with his love, Barbara. The family is grateful for the care given to John by the doctors and nurses on the seventh floor ICU. John’s funeral will be held Friday, May 11th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with is funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A visitation will be held form 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. the day of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Building Fund, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. |
