Charles Kady Sr. 93 of West Brookfield, a decorated WWII Army Veteran of the Battle of the Bulge serving under General George Patton was awarded The Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient died Monday March 5th at St. Vincent Hospital Worcester after a brief illness. Born in Methuen he was the son of the late Shaker and Jamilee (Saffe) Kady. Charles was the husband of the late Eleanor M (Hashway) Kady who died in 2000. He leaves his wife Jocelyn (Berard) Wile. Charles is predeceased by his daughter Linda Lee in 2010 and his son Randal in 2006. He leaves 2 sons Charles Jr. and his wife Amy, and Gary Kady, and his wife Sandy who pre-deceased him in 2017. 3 daughters, Charlotte Pine and her husband Lee, Cynthia and her husband John Whalen and Janice and her husband Ted O’Neill. He also leaves a sister Nellie Marinaro, 16 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by 5 siblings. Charles was well known as a builder. He established the well-known Kady Builders which he founded in 1945. Charles has raised up in his business several generations of builders in the family that continue the trade today. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Norwood and a former member of 1st Congregational Church in Spencer. |
