Elizabeth A. (Shea) Deignan, 82, of Worcester, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Meadows of Leicester where she will be missed by the staff, residents and families of the Meadows. Elizabeth was born in Worcester, daughter of Wilfred and Helen (Fitzgerald) Shea. She lived in Worcester all her life. She was a graduate of Worcester South High School. Betty leaves her husband of 58 years, James B. Deignan; two daughters, Kathleen A. Thomas of Worcester, and Karen M. Blackney and her husband Bryan of Westborough; four grandchildren, Bethany Bousquet and her husband Rick, Danielle Thomas, and Ryan and Kevin Blackney; and five great-grandchildren, Abagale Flynn, Nicole Bousquet, Avery Oquendo, Lillian Bousquet and Isabelle Thomas. Betty was a home health care worker for Family Services of Central Mass. for 15 years. Before raising her children, she worked at the State Mutual Life Assurance Co. Betty enjoyed travelling, especially to the Amish Country in Pennsylvania. She loved all kinds of animals, and was an avid reader. Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mass. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086.
