Olive (Kelley) Hallaman, 90, of Holden, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She leaves four children, Kathleen Stevenson and her husband John of Denton, Maryland, Cynthia Gillespie and her husband Thomas of Holden, Thomas Hallaman and his wife Ernell of Mililani, Hawaii and James Hallaman of Holden; three grandchildren, Matthew Gillespie, Joshua Hallaman and Emily Stevenson; her sister Phyllis Delaney and her husband Fred of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Thomas Kelley, her sisters, Frances Carpentier, Ruth Donahue, Edna Kavalita and Inez “Dottie” Conlon, and her lifelong friend Jackie Sharry. Olive was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas F. and Philomene (Belval) Kelley. She has lived in Holden for more than 50 years. Olive was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked for Worcester County National Bank and its successor Shawmut Bank for many years, before retiring. Olive enjoyed her many trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii. She was an avid bingo player and Red Sox fan. There will be a calling hour at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester on Friday, November 17, from 9 to 10 a.m. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061. |
