Beatrice (Thibodeau) Babineau Fredette 93, of Worcester, formerly of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September, 3rd 2017 at Christopher Heights surrounded by loving family. Beatrice is survived by three daughters Claudette Wrubel and her husband Ben of Worcester, Antoinette Gallant and her husband Yvon of Rogersville N.B, and Pauline Gard and her husband Rendell of Lakeville, N.B: a daughter in law Terry Babineau of Cocagne, N.B, eight grandchildren, Tina Sullivan, Anthony Wrubel, James Wrubel, Line Richard, Gilles Gallant, Ian Gard, Amy Gard, and Tracy MacLeod; and seven great grandchildren. Beatrice also leaves a brother, Ulysse Thibodeau of Dracut, MA; five sisters, Alice Arseneau, Elaine Black, Irene Rushton, Leona Arsenault, Bernice Aucoin all of Canada; two sisters in law Rita Thibodeau of Whitinsville, MA and Helen Thibodeau of Gardner; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members both here and in New Brunswick. Beatrice is predeceased by her first husband Antoine Babineau, and second husband Ray Fredette, a son Gilles Babineau, six siblings, Ernest, Edmund, Edward, Eugene, and Norman Thibodeau and Yvonne Ouillette. Born in Rogersville, N.B. Canada on October 23, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Fidele and Hermeline (Duguay) Thibodeau. Beatrice was raised in Canada and immigrated to Worcester in 1962 with her family, where she raised them and worked at Sprague Electric Worcester until her retirement. Beatrice then moved to Sturbridge until 2011 when she returned to Worcester’s Christopher Heights, assisted living. She was a member of the Association Franco American, Holy Family/Saint Joseph’s Parish in Worcester, Notre Dame Church, in Southbridge, and the Red Hat Society. Beatrice loved to play bingo, go dancing, garden, play cards and spend time with her family both in the States and in Canada. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, September 7th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Friday September 8, from the funeral home with a procession to St Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St, Where her celebration of life Mass will be held at 11:15 am. Burial will be follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA, In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name may be made to Notre Dame Healthcare Attn: Notre Dame Hospice 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605. |
