Paul E. Beauregard, of Auburn died Saturday May 27, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Worcester son of the late Edgar and Gertrude (Egan) Phaneuf. He graduated from Saint Peter’s High School and later from Worcester State College with a Bachelors of Education degree. He continued his graduate studies in business at Anna Maria College in Paxton. He served proudly with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1957. Paul had worked for the Federal Government in the Internal Revenue Service as an investigator for over 30 years before he retired in 1991. After leaving the IRS, Paul then had taken on a part-time time job at Old Sturbridge Village in the visitor’s center, a job he absolutely loved. He leaves his loving wife of 40 years, Rita P. (Paradis) Beauregard; eight children, Paul and his wife Pam, James and his wife Donna, Lisa and her husband Jim, Mark and his wife Bree, Scott and his wife Danielle, Lynn and her wife Mary, Neil and his fiancé Mel and Kelsey; also survived by ten grandchildren; a sister Nancy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, John. Paul loved and enjoyed his family first and foremost. Spending time with them was his greatest joy. He also had many other pleasures in his life such as spending time with his cat, Lily; he was a collector of everything and anything…; he enjoyed playing billiards, cribbage, Friday night card games, and visiting and having his daily coffee at McDonalds with the love of his life Rita. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding team at Notre Dame Hospice. The love and care they provided to Paul will never be forgotten. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 5-8 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St, Auburn. His funeral will be on Thursday June 1, 2017 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 11 am in North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial with military honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Contribution in Pauls’ name may be made to Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester. |
