Delores J. (Snyder) Blais, 79, of Boylston, died Monday May 22, 2017 in Dodge Park Rest Home, Worcester.
Delores leaves her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Blais, Sr; four sons, Robert J. Blais, Jr., and his wife Lisa of Boylston; Steven M. Blais and his wife Karen of Auburn; Michael F. Blais and his wife Debra of Berlin and Paul A. Blais and his wife Laura of Knoxville, TN., a daughter, Maryann L. Tivnan and her husband William of Holden; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Louise Moody of Auburn and Joan Benoit of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Baillargeon. Delores was born in Worcester, the daughter of Alphonse and Margaret (Bourque) Snyder and lived in Boylston for most of her life.
A graduate of Fanning Trade High School’s Class of 1956, Delores worked for 15 years on the food service staff for the Berlin – Boylston School District. She was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Parish and was most proud of raising her five children and loved being surrounded by her family. She was an avid crocheter who enjoyed walks on the beach, singing opera and dancing to all genres of music.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St. Worcester from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Delores’ memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA & NH, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA, 02452.
