Alfred E. Guardiani passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday, December 31, 2016 under the loving care of his family and the staff at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester. Born and raised in Southbridge, Al was the son of Italian immigrants, Eustachio and Yolanda (Guardiani) Guardiani and lived most of his life in Worcester. He will be remembered and lovingly missed by his wife of 46 years, Anne Marie (Richards) Guardiani; a brother, Frank Guardiani of Sarasota, Florida; two sisters, Maria Young and her husband, Samuel of Pomfret, Connecticut and Ann Guardiani of Worcester; several nephews and nieces. Al proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army. He was stationed in the European Theatre of operations and with the occupation forces in Germany. He spent most of his career in the electronics industry before retiring in 1988. He attended Greenville Baptist Church in Leicester. Al was a skilled model ship builder and an avid reader. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Al’s family from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, January 9, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a memorial service honoring his life at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
