Ronald Philip Olson, 74, of Brookfield, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 13, 2016, after a short illness. Born in Worcester, Ronald was the son of Raymond H. and Vivienne B. (Bonner) Olson, and lived in Paxton for many years before moving to Brookfield 12 years ago.
He grew up in the Greendale section of Worcester and was a 1962 graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. He retired in 2007 after working 15 years for the Worcester Dept. of Traffic and Engineering. Previously he worked many years at Seasonal Specialty Stores, a mechanic for the Worcester Police Dept. and was owner and operator of Ronnie’s Greendale American Garage from 1966-1980. Ronald served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for three years. He was a real outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping, driving his car and scratch tickets. He leaves his two sons, Mark P. Olson of Paxton and Gary R. Olson and his wife, Cori of Hudson; his two daughters, Christine M. Wychorski and her husband, Marc of Paxton and Jessica L. Morrow and her husband, James of Spencer; sisters, Patricia Pepper and her husband, James of Worcester, Donna Caputo and her husband, John “Jack” of No. Grafton, Cynthia Jensen and her husband, Michael of South Dennis; his ex-wife, Judith A. Bailey and her husband Stewart of Holden; and two grandchildren, Vivienne and Callen. Two infant sons, Steven and Michael Olson, a brother, Ralph Olson and his sister, Sheila Johanson and predeceased him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, at the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. |
