Beverly V. (Ekberg) Yacuzzi, 88, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2016 at Webster Manor Healthcare Center. Beverly was born on October 24, 1928 in Worcester and remained a lifelong resident of the City until moving to Webster Manor 4 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Anton Ekberg and Corrine (Dube) Ekberg. She is survived by a son, Thomas C. Yacuzzi and his wife, Linda, of Dudley, a daughter, Mary Ann Spiegel and her husband, James, of Bellevue, WA, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Yacuzzi Foley, six grandchildren, Richard Yacuzzi, Jr., Kathryn Duncan, Kristin Spiegel, James Spiegel, Jr., Sean Peek and Heidi Peek and two great granddaughters. She is also survived by brothers, Richard Ekberg of Holyoke and Raymond Ekberg of Millbury and a sister, Carol Demarais of Providence, RI. She was predeceased in 2007 by her husband of 58 years, Thomas J. Yacuzzi, and in 1998 by her son, Richard F. Yacuzzi. She was also predeceased by sisters Rita Nystrom of Holden, Shirley Poulin of Rutland, VT, Marie Giard of Worcester, and a brother, William Ekberg. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked for many years as the Office Manager at Walker Coal & Ice, as Bookkeeper at H.E. Shaw Company and R.H. White. She was a real estate broker who assisted her husband at Thomas J. Yacuzzi Real Estate and Insurance Agency and was the bookkeeper for 25 Oak Avenue Trust Medical building. Beverly will be remembered for being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her home was a welcoming gathering place for relatives and friends because of her warm generous heart and her fine cooking. She was an avid Red Sox fan and had a great love for Cape Cod where she enjoyed spending time at her home in Harwich. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and was involved in many community organizations including the Civil Air Patrol during World War 11 and was an active member of the Mother’s Club at St. John’s Grammar School where her 3 children attended. A special thank you to the entire staff and care team of Webster Manor Healthcare and Notre Dame Hospice for their excellent compassionate care and family support. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 11th 2016 with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Please come directly to the Church. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Beverly to the Webster Manor Healthcare Center, Resident’s Activity Fund, 745 School Street, Webster, MA 01570.
