Joseph A. Dubsky, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7th at Pleasant Bay Rehabilitation in Brewster, Ma. Born in Worcester, Ma. to the late Charles Dubsky and Mary Kosinski. Joe lived much of his life in Worcester, Ma. and his later years in Murrells Inlet, S.C. He was married to his devoted wife Sonja (Magnuson) Dubsky until her passing in 1977. He leaves three daughters: Sandra Soucy and her husband Bob of Fremont, N.H., Barbara Kodak of Harwich, Ma. and Paula Sweeney and her husband Mike of Harwich, Ma; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Joe grew up in a large family; predeceased by brothers Stephen, Anthony, Frank, and John Dubsky, sisters Josephine Conroy, Millie Diggins, Mae, Helen, and Jenny Dubsky; and son-in-law John Kodak. Joe is survived by his brother Edward and several nieces and nephews. For many years he shared his passion of life with Alice Fallon of Murrells Inlet, S.C. Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Missouri during World War II. While serving on the U.S.S Missouri, he witnessed the signing of the peace treaty to end the war between the United States and Japan. He was a member of the U.S.S. Missouri Association, Polish American World War II Veterans, American Legion and Elks. Joe retired from General Electric and Timex Companies. He enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, along with fishing, hunting, and golf. A private family graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. |
