John D. Wentworth, 72, a lifelong resident of Paxton, passed away at home on July 4, 2016 after a brave 5-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He leaves his significant other of more than 30 years Mary Ford, with whom he lived. John is survived by his daughter, Lisa Luzzo and her husband, Marc of Nantucket; his son, Jason Wentworth and his wife, Krista of Auburn; his son, Jeremy Wentworth of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by Mary’s daughters; Alysha Glazier and her husband, Jonathan of Westford; Stephanie McSherry and her fiancé, Christopher Cox of Southborough; and Andrea McSherry and her fiancé, Justin Hill of Charlestown. John leaves nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Tyler, Celia, Emma, Leah, Hannah, Weston, Caroline and Victoria. And his beloved grand-dogs. He was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth Wentworth. John is survived by his sister, Susan Sherman and her husband, William of Middleboro and their family. He also leaves Mark Russell and his son, Zachary of Templeton. John graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. More than 40 years ago, John started Montachusett Pump Company and later Welltech Corporation both based in Sterling. Throughout life John pursued his hobby of building and collecting 1932 Ford Hot Rods. In 2012, he completed a restoration of his prized Roadster to the exact condition it was in when it was on the cover of Hot Rod magazine in July 1964. One of John’s greatest pleasures was spending time at his family’s ocean-side home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The family wishes to extend deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. David Shepro and his wonderful staff that provided the best care to John and his family. The family also appreciates the Hospice staff of Jewish Healthcare. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with John’s family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
