Alfred A. Rondeau, Jr., 91, of Worcester, a member of the Greatest Generation, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, in the Holyoke Soldier’s Home. Alfred served proudly in the United States Navy, during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Alfred was born in Worcester, son of the late, Alfred A. and Edwidge A. (Cauchon) Rondeau. He graduated from Commerce High School, and lived most of his life here in Worcester. He worked as a mail processor for over forty years, at the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester, before retiring in 1984. He had been a member of the former Notre Dame Church; a member of the VFW, and was a supporter of many Native American Causes. Alfred was a life- long New Englander, and was a fan of the New England Patriots, but set himself apart, when it came to baseball, as a New York Yankees Fan. He is survived by two sisters, Anita Lopardo of Worcester and Rita Lundeen and her husband Bob of Spencer. Uncle Ted is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, including his primary caregiver, Janet L. Rosetti of Worcester. Three sisters predeceased him, Noella Kirk, Theresa DeSautels, and Lucille Lewis. A Calling Hour will be held on Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606. |
