Earl C. Kenneway, Jr., 78, died peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, following a period of declining health. He was born in Holden, a son of the late Earl C. and Grace M. Howard. Earl was raised in Worcester and attended North High School. At the age of 17, Earl enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for more than 20 years, including several tours in Vietnam during the war. Following his retirement from the military service Earl became an air traffic controller for the Lockheed Company, and worked in Saudi Arabia for several years. Upon returning to the United States, Earl settled in Montana where he became a sheep rancher. Earl then met his wife and after several years returned to the Worcester area and began working for the Postal Service, retiring 12 years ago as a mail handler at the Shrewsbury Distribution Center after 20 years. Earl enjoyed a simple life. He enjoyed word puzzles, camping, and spending as much time as he could with his family. He leaves his beloved wife of 36 years, Pauline A. (Kunda) Kenneway; his two children, Paige and Ryan Kenneway both of Great Falls, MT; his three step-children, Steven Holland and his wife, Dawn of Barre, Sharon Dzivasen of Leominster and Stephanie Cooper and her husband, Greg of Portland, OR; his three siblings, Richard Kenneway of West Boylston, Paulette Maesto and Judith Raymond , both of Florida; two grandchildren, Katie and Jonathan of Great Falls, Montana; his step-grandchildren, Amber Wolf of Rhode Island, Nicholas Wolf of Winthrop, Zachary Spencer of Spencer, Alyssa and Sophia Holland of Barre; 5 great grandchildren of Great Falls, MT; 2 step-great grandchildren, Riley and Connor Wolf; as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Friday, February 19, at 1 p.m. at the Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. A luncheon at Val’s Restaurant in Holden is to follow. There are no visiting hours. |
