Frank V. Wynne, 85, of Avery Heights Dr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014 under the loving care of his family and the staff of Holy Trinity Hospice. Born in Chicago and raised in Dorchester, Frank was the son of Vincent and Margaret M. (McDonald) Wynne and lived 20 years in Worcester before moving to Holden 1992. After graduating from Dorchester High School, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during World War II. In 1951, he went to work for Capital Airlines in Cleveland, Ohio as an assistant manager of reservations and later enjoyed working in the operations department at Cleveland Airport. He then worked as a district sales manager for Varig (Brazilian) Airlines in Cleveland before moving back to Boston where he went to work for the U. S. Postal Service. Frank was a true fan of the Boston Red Sox. At the age of 16, he attended his first Red Sox game at Fenway Park in Boston against the New York Yankees. He loved baseball and played senior softball at Worcester State College until the age of 73. Frank’s family would particularly like to thank Dr. David Shepro and his dedicated staff for their loving care and devoted support. He leaves he beloved wife of 34 years, Suzanne (Mardoyan) Wynne; two sons, Fred and Jim Wynne both of Jeannette, PA; two daughters, Lori Smith of Glenmills, PA and Mary Weinberg of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Kay Lyon of Northford, CT and Lucille Olson of Bow Concord, NH; six grandchildren, Thomas, Drew, Paul, Ryan, Mark and Grace; many wonderful nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, James Wynne and a sister, Tess Flynn. Relatives and friends are invited to gather and visit with Frank’s family from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a procession to Holy Family Church (St. Joseph’s), 35 Hamilton St., Worcester for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank’s name to Holy Family Church, 5 Whitman Rd., Worcester, MA 01609, or the Holy Trinity Hospice, 300 Barber St., Worcester, MA 01606. |
