Raymond A. Roy, 73, of Worcester, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Virginia (Doucimo) Roy, their children; Anthony Roy of Auburn, Regina Monopoli and her husband Louis of Worcester, Rebecca Duquette and her husband Stephen of Auburn, and Veronica Roy-Hachey and her husband Scott of Charlton, 8 adoring grandchildren; Sara, Anthony, Samantha, Paige, Julia, Lauren, Molly, & Aidan, and loving great grandchildren; Gabriella and Luigi. He also leaves his brother Paul Roy and his wife Francis of Oxford, and a sister Elaine Tomasetti and her husband Donald of Milford, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was born in Worcester. He was the son of the late Alfred and Doris (Perkins) Roy. Mr. Roy worked for Sealtest/Breyers Ice Cream for 33 years. Needless to say the Roy children were the envy of the neighborhood.
Ray’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He especially adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they really loved spending time with “Grampy”. He also loved the outdoors especially camping, and going to Summer Nationals to admire the antique cars. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed working in, and around his yard.
Raymond’s funeral and burial plans will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PL, Memphis, TN 38105.
