DONALD W. BERGDAHL

Donald W. Bergdahl, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011, after a long illness. He leaves his wife of nearly 46 years, Dorothy G. (Charbonneau) Bergdahl. He also leaves two daughters, Lisa E. and her husband Michael F. Stone of Worcester and Lori A. and her husband Jason R. Geshelin of Uxbridge; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Stone and Emily Geshelin; and many nieces and nephews including Jeanne A. and her husband David L. Rossetti of Webster. Two sisters and one brother predeceased him, Evelyn M. Rice, Thirza A. and Norman Bergdahl.

Donald was born in Worcester, son of the late John B. and Thirza M. (Martin) Bergdahl. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Norton Company/Warner & Swasey for 33 years, and part time at Sears and Roebuck’s hardware department for 25 years. He was also a Maintenance Engineer at Worcester State College. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a former member of The Engelbreck Club, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Thursday, July 21, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Friday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church.
