Pearl S. (Scott) Conner, 74, died Sunday, April 26th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Philip C. Conner, four children, Scott Conner and wife Grace of Spencer, Wayne Conner of Annapolis, MD, Kristen Atchue and husband Wayne of Auburn and Stacey Soter and husband Mark of Sutton; seven grandchildren, Andrzej and Alexander Conner of Spencer, Stephanie, Samantha, and Erin Atchue of Auburn and Courtney and Eric Soter of Sutton; three brothers, Robert Scott of Oakland, CA, Russell Scott of Torrance, CA and Warren Scott of Torrance, CA. She was born in Worcester November 14, 1934 and is predeceased by her parents, Perley H. and Lillian I (Maynard) Scott and a brother Donald Scott of Buffalo, NY. After receiving her diploma at South High School she continued her education and was state certified as a cosmetologist. Immediately following she was employed by the Beauty Salon at Barnard's Department Store and then onto Denholm and McKay's in downtown Worcester, but left soon after to start raising her children. She enjoyed many social activities including Quinsigamond Yacht Club at the Quaranta Post (Shrewsbury), Camp Fire Girls Leader, Member of the Eastern Star (Stella Chapter), Rainbow Girls (Whitinsville Assembly #51), and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bethany Christian United Parish and also served on several committees there. She also enjoyed many travels outside and inside the United States with family and friends. Pearl spent many an hour behind the steering wheel of the power boat teaching others to water ski or just enjoying the company of family and friends at the camp on Stiles Reservoir. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are 4 to 6 pm Wednesday, April 29th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, One River St., Millbury, MA 01527. |
