George F. Burton Sr., 80, of Worcester, died peacefully sunday afternoon April the 30th, 2006 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family.He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosemarie (Cursi) Burton; His devoted children: Sharon A. Cosenza and her husband Richard,Cathy A. Dipilato and her husband Anthony,Lisa M. Robinson and her husband William all of Worcester, Laurie A. Black of Auburn, and a son George F. Burton Jr. and his wife Dale of Worcester.George also leaves his grandchildren, Brian,Julie,Christina,Daniel,Nina,Ceara, and Jacob; and a great-grand-daughter, Emily Rose;and a sister Mary Garofolo and her husband Samuel of Foxboro; and nieces and nephews. Georgewas predeceased by his sisters,Myrtle Wood and Lila Hilton, and a beloved grand-daughter, Kayla Rose Black. George was born in West Springfield, Son of George and Mabel(McMahon) Burton and lived in Worcester most of his life. He defended his country in world war 2. He seved in the 21st infantry of the Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He recieved a Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and an American Theater Medal. He was a disabled American Veteran. George worked for the former Heald Machine Company for many years and later worked in sales for the Goldstein, Swank and Gordon Jewelry Company before he retired. He was a member of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, and the DAV Chapter 4. George was a kind and gentle husband and father, and will be greately missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He enjoyed fishing, and reading, but most of all time spent with his loving wife and children.George will be inĀ our hearts forever |
