Subscription Update Obituary

     Zachary Francis Ford, age 20, of 907 Pleasant Street, Worcester, passed away at home Sunday, February 27, 2011.

     Zach leaves his loving parents, Paul F. and Rosemary F. (Fraser) Ford with whom he lived. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Kristin and Brittany Ford. His girlfriend Amanda Beaudet was truly the light of his life. Zachary also leaves behind aunts and uncles: Bob and Kathleen Fraser of Princeton, Richard and Sue Fraser of Hopkinton, Ron and Joanna Fraser of Worcester, Rita and Jim Atkinson of Hopkinton, Renee and Barry Johnson of Worcester, Russell Fraser of Shrewsbury, Ellen and Paul Bussone of Beverly, Dan Ford of Worcester and Nan Ford of Westboro; and his dogs: Hannah and Gizmo.

     Zach attended St. Peter’s Central Catholic, St. John’s High School, Keene State College and Assumption College.

     Zach was a gifted athlete. He was the centerfielder on the Jesse Burkett Little League All-Star team that made it to the National Championship Game in the 2002 Little League World Series. Two of his spectacular catches during the all-star run were featured on ESPN’s Sports Center Webgems. Zach was part of a great bunch of kids that captivated the attention of an entire country. His skills and fearless enthusiasm contributed mightily to the optimism and hope that mesmerized the entire community. Zach and his teammates provided excitement and cherished memories for their families, friends and their city.

     Zach was a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend. His smile and character brought joy to those around him. His zest for life made him magnetic and he was a truly great friend. He enlightened the lives of everyone he knew and he will be greatly missed.

     Calling hours are Thursday, March 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be Friday, March 4 at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
