Subscription Update Obituary

     Woodrow Adams Sr., 71, passed away on February 13, 2021 at Massachusetts General Hospital after succumbing to injuries sustained in a fire at his home.

He was born in Indianola, Mississippi on July 19, 1949 a son to Hosie Adams, Sr., and Addie Lee McKinney. He attended school in Mississippi before relocating to Worcester where he met and married Lorraine (Salters) Adams. For many years, Woodrow was employed as a butcher at Fairway Beef Company. In later years, he worked as a private security officer.

Woodrow loved spending time with his family, loved his community and was dedicated to his church. Woodrow also enjoyed fishing.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Lorraine S. (Salters) Adams; seven children, Latonya Adams, Shelisa Adams, Ramona Adams, Woodrow Adams, Jr., Keith Adams all of Worcester, Stacey Parrott of North Carolina, and Tammy Wintzel of Southbridge. He leaves his siblings Eular Mae Adams, Ola Mae Adams, Hosea Adams and Roosevelt Adams. He also leaves his grandchildren Shakyra Adams-Davis, Tyrone Adams-Davis, Janiya Adams, Keandre Adams, Nyasia Adams, Raeshawn Adams, Malachi Adams Glover, Janessa Adams, Woodrow Adams III, Ja’Ziyah Rogers, Jose Ortiz, Zeron Perez, Dakneesha Wintzel-Tolson, Dana Hazard Jr., Dayzyah Wintzel-Neely, Alonzo Whiteside and Edward Whiteside, and many nieces and nephews.

Woodrow was predeceased by his brothers Felix, James and sisters Mary and Ora.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday March 2, 2021 from 9:00am until 10:00am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 929 Main Street Worcester, MA 01610. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am and burial will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
