Subscription Update Obituary

     William “Billy” Glynn, 62, passed away October 9, 2018 after an illness with his loving family by his side. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Kenneth L. Glynn Jr. and the late Helen K. (McGurl) Glynn and had lived in Rutland.

Billy worked for years as a truck driver for Central Mass Oil, Paquette Concrete and B&M Construction. He was an active member of the Rutland Sportsman’s Club for more than 30 years donating his time and efforts towards the many activities held at the club. He was a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Monday Night Sauna Club in Rutland. The Rutland 4th of July parade was his favorite event which he attended faithfully. He enjoyed the Red Sox and Bruins games and especially the Winter Classic with his son Billy.

Billy was the best Dad to his children and leaves his son, Billy L. Glynn and wife, Kellie of Hardwick and daughter, Crystal S. Glynn of Rutland. He was “Grampy” to Jeremy and Joshua Glynn who he adored. He also leaves his long-time companion, Patricia Melick of Paxton who was by his side with love and devotion.

Billy also leaves behind 2 brothers, Kenneth S. Glynn and Francis G. Glynn and wife, Lee all of Rutland along with 4 sisters, Kathleen Glynn-Whitney and wife, Gail of Rutland, Eileen McCarthy and husband, Kevin of Eastham, Colleen Ruel and husband, Roland of Oakham, Maureen Glynn-Wallace and wife, Joni of Douglas.

He was the most interesting and loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews, Jeremy Glynn, Heidi & Micah Bolduc, Jenn Duffy & Stefan Midurski, Brian & Beth Duffy, Erin Glynn, Suzie & Chris Bailey, Justin Bassett, Heather & Chris Yetmen, Sarah McCarthy, Meagan McCarthy, Kelli McCarthy & Tom Martinelli, Jonathan Glynn, Chrissy & Glenn Bedford, Christie and Cassie Newell along with his great nieces and nephews, Gavin, Kate, Anna, Evan, Lilah, Braydon, Alyvia, Alissa, Nathan, Chelsea and Tabitha.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life starting at 6 pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Rutland Sportsman’s Club in Rutland, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Billy’s name to the Rutland Sportsman’s Club, 75 Pleasantdale Road, Rutland, MA 01543. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
