Subscription Update Obituary

Virginia E. (Briere) Wetherbee, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Care One Millbury. Her husband of over 60 years, Wallace Pike Wetherbee predeceased her. She leaves two sons Bruce Wetherbee of Worcester and Jeffrey Wetherbee of FL; one grandson Adam and his wife Ashley Wetherbee of CT; a great granddaughter Elizabeth; and several nieces. Three sisters- Dorothy Paul, Gloria Cormier, and Phyllis Christensen and her daughter-in-law Jean Wetherbee predeceased her.

Virginia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Albert and Amy (Supernor) Briere. She graduated from Classical High School and worked as a secretary in the family business- Wetherbee & Co. Book Binders- for many years. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, reading suspense novels, and collecting dolls.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
