Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas J. Chosta Jr., age 88, died Saturday, July 22. 2023 at the Oasis at Dodge Park after a long illness.

He was married to Margaret (Whitaker) Chosta for 47 years. She passed away in 2003.

Thomas was the son of Thomas and Grace (Flynn) Chosta of Worcester. He was predeceased by the following siblings: Joan E. (Chosta) O’Donnell, Kevin R. Chosta, Grace M. (Chosta) Leber, and Patricia A. (Chosta) Donnelly.

Thomas is survived by his sister Kathleen L. Palardis, wife of Omer Palardis, of Florida.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his former wife, Aline Blanchard of Connecticut.

Tom served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  He was a paratrooper in the 82 Airborne Division.  He loved and was proud of his service to his country.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Worcester and was a delivery driver for the Wonder Bread Company out of West Boylston.  He was also a member of Local 25.

There are calling hours Thursday, July 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.  The funeral Mass will be Friday, July 28, at 10 a.m. at St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle St. Worcester.  Tom will be laid to rest alongside his wife Margaret in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards St., Paxton.
