Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas “Tommy” Emil Ushinski, age 61, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at Harrington Hospital of Southbridge, MA surrounded by his family. Born on March 23, 1963, in Worcester, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Yvonne (Fontaine) Ushinski. Tommy was the youngest son of five children. His father was one of eight Ushinski children and his mother was one of sixteen Fontaine children. Tommy was constantly surrounded and loved by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a graduate of the South High School Special Education Program.

After graduation, Tommy worked at Seven Hills Foundation in Worcester with tenacity and commitment. He worked on-site and off-site doing assembly as well as janitorial work. He was proud to be a part of the work force. Tommy was later able to explore his artistic side at the program at Aspire! Seven Hills Foundation. Finally, Tommy moved to Golden Heights in Webster, MA where he enjoyed field trips to the WooSox, the zoo, and watching fireworks on Memorial Beach.

Tommy is survived by his sister, Patricia (Ushinski) Ramstrom, his sister, Jeanne (Ushinski) Desrosiers, and her partner, Gary Rutkiewicz. He is predeceased by his brother, Stanley Ushinski, sister, Carol (Ushinski) Smith, niece Shayna, and brother-in-law, Robert Ramstrom. Tommy will be missed by his countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a brief wake on Wednesday, September 25th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester.  A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
