Theresa P. (DiPilato) Clancey, 67, a lifelong resident of Worcester, devoted soulmate, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, December 19th 2024 surrounded by loved ones after a series of health challenges.

Theresa was born in Worcester, the daughter of Guiseppi and Helen (Byczkowski) DiPilato. Raised and educated in Worcester, Theresa devoted her life to her family. In 1989, while attending a benefit, Theresa met her husband Robert J. Mitchell and the two have been soulmates for over 35 years.

In addition to Robert, Terry is survived by her three children whom she adored; Sean Clancey, Joseph Clancey and Jillian Moriarty and her husband Christopher all of Worcester; her two sisters, Roseanne McLaughlin and her husband Jimmy of Worcester and Paula McGovern and her husband Jack of Paxton. Terry was “Grammy” to four grandchildren, Addison, Teagan, Caleigh, and Jack. Terry cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews and their children. In addition to her parents, Terry was predeceased her two brothers, Leo DiPilato and Richard Siemaszko.

Terry had a generous nature about her and enjoyed shopping and buying gifts for others, especially those in need. She cherished her time on Cape Cod; walking on the beach, visiting restaurants and frequenting yard sales and flea markets with Bob. Terry treasured her summer nights with her grandchildren, singing to them and telling them stories before bedtime. She was an advocate for and lover of animals, often donating time and money to animal safety.

A period of calling hours will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from, 9:30 am to 11:00 am followed by a prayer service at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to The Second Chance Animal Shelter, 831 Main Street Worcester or the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Way, Memphis, Tenn.
