Terence J. McLean, 89, of Worcester, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Odd Fellows Home after an illness.

  He leaves his wife, Margaret (Smith) McLean; three daughters: Lauren McLean and her husband William Dingeman of Haymarket, VA, Beverly Wimberley and her husband David of New Hampshire and Jacqueline Martino of Worcester; and two brothers: Lester McLean of Lancaster and Paul McLean of North Carolina.

  He was born in Clinton, son of James and Elizabeth (LaPlante) McLean. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Northeastern University and Suffolk University Law School.

  He was an Army Veteran of World War II and served with the 609 Tank Div. in the European Theater.

  Mr. McLean was a special agent for the U.S. Treasury Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for many years. He later maintained a private law practice in Worcester for 20 years, before retiring.

  He was a member of Christ the King Parish, Tatnuck American Legion Post and the Clinton Elks.

  Mr. McLean was devoted to reading history books. He was also a tremendous sports fan, and especially enjoyed following the Red Sox and Patriots.

  A calling hour at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, will be held Friday, April 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial, with military honors, will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
