Steven F. Warren, 67, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 27, 2023, following a lengthy illness. Steve, a lifelong resident of Worcester, graduated from Burncoat High School in 1974, before serving in the Marine Corps. He was proud of his service and was honorably discharged in 1978.
Steve worked at Data General in Westborough until 1990, while also earning an associate degree in management and a Bachelor of Science degree in CIS Information Management Systems from Central New England College. Steve later made a career change to food service. He worked for 23 years at Christopher House in Worcester, where he liked to bring joy to the residents, before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities and the beach. Two of his favorite places to spend time were Ogunquit, ME, and Key West, FL. Steve also enjoyed holiday decorating, and he was known for his themed trees for every season.
Steve will be missed by his aunts Barbara Delgreco and JoAnn Periman of Worcester, and Patricia Palubicki and her husband Michael of Island Lake, IL; his siblings, Paul Warren and his wife Tracy of Mashpee, Debra Coughlin and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, Judith Warren and her partner Donna Bunnell of Worcester and Holderness, NH; nieces Caileigh Terlep and her husband Ben and son Ryan of Parker, CO and Paige Warren and her fiancé Jonathan Mahoney of North Hollywood, CA; nephew Zachary Coughlin and his wife Nicole of Northwood, NH; several cousins, roommate Ron McSheehy of Worcester, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Harold F. Warren in 1980, his mother Ann M. (Parent) Warren in 2006 and his husband Robert “Bob” McDonald in 2004.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Steve’s funeral service with military honors will follow calling hours at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7 in the funeral home.
