Subscription Update Obituary

     Shirley E. (Smith) Gangnon, 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” J. Gangnon, Jr; 2 sons- Daniel and James Gangnon; a daughter- Faith E. Gangnon Wise; 4 grandchildren- Daniel Gangnon , Luke Gangnon , Sgt Ashley E. Wise stationed in Afghanistan & Spc. Gregory K. Wise, 3 beautiful great grandchildren, many beautiful nieces & nephews. A special Thankyou to Kathy & Paul. Predeceased by three siblings, Donald Smith , Marcia Doherty & Berniece Yoder.

Shirley was born in New London, CT, daughter of the late Donald Smith and Elizabeth (Andrews) Caradonna. She graduated from North High School and worked in the food services department of Holy Cross College for many years. Shirley enjoyed summering in Kennebunkport and going to the beach, shopping with Kathy and Paul, bowling, and being with her Family. She also enjoyed summer evenings having ice cream with Bill out on the deck.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to a cancer charity of their choice.
