Our beloved Shawnee Hollis passed suddenly and tragically, taking a piece of our hearts with her during the early morning of February 17, 2024. She leaves behind her greatest pride and joy, her son Camron. She also had created a beautiful life with her partner of eight years Kris and his son Kadin, whom she loved and cherished as her own. She also leaves her parents Steve and Cathy, and brothers and sisters Robert, Kyle and his wife Myriah, Aolani, and Meishara. She is predeceased by her brother Travis and nephew Dominic. She leaves nephews, great nephews, and nieces whom she adored. She also leaves her best friends and their children whom she cherished and held so dear to her heart.

She loved being a mother, and prided herself on caring for her family and their plumbing business. She also spent many years as a preschool teacher and daycare provider, work she loved and spoke about frequently. She loved Dave Matthews and reggae festivals, but she was happiest at the ocean where she could dip her toes in the sand and swim in the ocean. She also loved camping with her family and friends. She was everything to everyone, our rock, the best mother, partner, sister, auntie, and friend you could ever ask for. She lived for the warmth, the love, the light, and peace to surround her. Her bright smile and infectious, beautiful laugh will be missed beyond measure.

Shawnee’s memory will be honored and remembered at visiting hours from 4-7 on Thursday, February 22 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden. A Celebration of Life will be held when the flowers are in bloom and the sun is warm again. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be set up for Camron at Cornerstone Bank.
