Sarah “Sally” M. (Bassan) Lorusso, 77, of Shrewsbury died Saturday, January 6, 2018 surrounded by her family after being stricken ill earlier in the week.
Her husband of 42 years, Francis J. “Sonny” Lorusso, died in 2000.
She leaves a daughter, Teresa M. Lorusso and her husband Mark F. Desrosiers of Worcester; a son, Joseph Lorusso; a granddaughter, Christina Lorusso; three sisters, Mary Nelson of Leicester, Prudence Festa of Auburn and Irene Nelson of Worcester; a brother, Donald Bassan of Memphis, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews. Her brothers Earl J. and George Bassan predeceased her.
Sally was born in Webster, daughter of EarlJohn and Teresa (Browne) Bassan. She grew up in West Boylston and later graduated from the former Worcester High School of Commerce.
Sally worked with her husband at several small businesses in the Worcester area that they owned.
Sally was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will be private.
