Mr. S. Robert Lindgren, 81, of Greenville, Rhode Island, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Frances (Bourell) Lindgren; two sons, Robert Lindgren and his wife Teresa of Spencer, MA, Gary Lindgren and his wife Nancy of Sturbridge, MA; a daughter, Lori Houle of Coventry, RI; six grandchildren, and one great grandson.
He was born November 16, 1928 in Worcester, Massachusetts, a son of the late Sven and Hilma (Anderson) Lindgren.
He was educated through the Worcester schools and graduated from Commerce High School. He worked for over twenty years as a senior project engineer at Cranston Print Works until his retirement in 1992.
He was an avid boater and loved to be on the water. He was a member of the Train Collectors Association and frequently attended model train shows.
A private funeral was held Tuesday, September 21 from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME. Burial was in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
