Ruth Lindberg, 73, of Worcester passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at UMass Hospital, reuniting with her beloved son, Edmund “Eddie” L. Lindberg, who died too young in July 2010.

Ruth is survived by her brother, John Lindberg and his wife Donna; a long time close friend and caretaker, Harry Brooks; two nephews, Todd Lindberg and his wife Aime, and Brian Lindberg and his wife Nicole; a great niece and four great nephews, Maeve, Gavin, Jacob, Jackson, and Jason; her “adopted” kids and their families, Emily Seco, Heather Monks, William Fox,  Joshua Kleiner, Timothy Noel, and Margaret Johnson; and a neighbor who always watched out for her, Ray Bourassa. Ruth was predeceased by two sisters, a brother-in-law and a nephew: Janice Dupre, Sandra and her husband Bob Nelson, and their son William Nelson.

Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edmund V. and Evelyn K. (Anderson) Lindberg, has lived here all her life, and received a bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University.  Ruth worked for several years at Target, having previously worked as a waitress at John and Linda’s Breakfast Café, and as a bartender at the Millbury Town Line Restaurant and Bar.

Ruth enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her cat, Stewart.  She loved her friends and family and longed for the day to be reunited with her son, Eddie.  Rest in peace, Ruth.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, December 18, at 11 a.m. in the Garden of The Good Shepherd section at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.

There are no calling hours.

The Family has entrusted Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel.
