Subscription Update Obituary

Ruth A. (Shea) Brown, 72, peacefully passed away unexpectedly in her home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Born and raised in Worcester, Ruth was the daughter of the late Howard G. and Florence S. (Lewis) Shea.

She attended Worcester public schools and pursued her education, earning her associate’s degree from Quinsigamond Community College and her bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University. Ruth dedicated 28 years of service as a registered nurse to the Telemetry Unit at UMass Medical Center, where her compassion and expertise touched the lives of many.

Ruth is survived by her loving son, Jeremy Brown (Katherine) of Graham, NC, and daughters; Julie Anne LeClaire of Millbury and Rachael E. Brown of Wellesley. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Shea of Auburn. Her legacy will live on in her 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who were the joys in her life. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved daughter Michelle Brown and an infant son Paul Brown.

Ruth was an extraordinary woman who dedicated her life to helping others and to her beloved family. Her love and care for her family were evident in everything she did. Whether it was through her thoughts, prayers or acts of service, Ruth’s family was always at the center of her world. Her enduring love for her children is a testament to the strength and depth of her character. She always kept her family close despite the challenges and distances which speaks volumes about the remarkable person she was. Ruth will be sorely missed by her many friends and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service honoring her life at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23rd, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richard’s Ave., Paxton. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
